FRaMS Associates Fire Safety Consultants

 

 

Through its extensive knowledge, experience and associate base, FRaMS Associates are available to assist and support your Company with the following services.  We cannot take away the ultimate responsibility from the Responsible Person – this role will remain within the Company. However, our pledge is to help protect you with an unbiased professionalism that you can be confident in.

 

 

Fire Risk Assessment

A fire risk assessment is the starting point of making your premises safe enough for people to use, visit or occupy.  You will be provided with a 'suitable and sufficient' assessment as required by the Fire Safety Order. This follows a survey of the premises and an interrogation of your systems and records. The recorded findings of the assessment is designed to provide you with a profile of your fire safety arrangements.

The findings will include what you currently have. Any deviation to recommended compliance guidance will be highlighted as requiring remedial action. Your premises are individual, therefore we may provide specific alternatives that will satisfy the legal requirements.

Reviews

All fire risk assessments require reviewing regularly. We review your risk assessment only if we have carried out that assessment in the first instance. We will review after the first 12 month anniversary. After that, the timesacle may be longer - this will depend on your (fire safety) management success.
 

We are also able to review our risk assessments following alterations or changes of any kind to the premises, or following a fire should you have one.

Auditing

We are able to audit fire risk assessments carried out by yourself or a 3rd party.

We are also able to audit your current fire safety provisions. This will follow a similar process that the Enforcing Authorities conduct. These audits will identify considered non-compliances to the Fire Safety Order.

If you have been provided advice on proposed fire safety provisions, we are available to provide an unbiased comment on whether they are sufficient or excessive. We could save you money as FRaMS Associates do not sell extinguishers, alarms or other hardware as a result of our services.

Fire Strategies

Many Fire and Rescue Services and Building Inspectors are requesting written fire strategies in support of new build (and building alterations) proposals on a more frequent basis. These documents help the end user understand what fire safety provisions are in their building and why.

FRaMS Associates have experience in Building Regulations consultations, either as Building Inspectors or Fire Inspectors. We understand the process and will work closely with your design team. If we have early consultation with the architect, services installers and yourself, we are able to guide the team through the process in order to achieve a compliant and cost effective building.

 

Fire Safety Management

 We have a range of documentation formats that can be used to show compliance to managerial responsibilities.

Our associate company can even take on the management of your fire safety provisions through a number of varying packages. This leaves you to concentrate on running your business.

With your premises and occupancy in mind, we work to identify the best procedures to follow; not only during a fire, but more importantly during normal day-to-day activities in order to minimise the risk of a fire ocurring in the first place.

Training

The potential devastating effects of fire make it essential that all staff recieve adequate instruction and training in fire safety so they know how to help prevent it and how to react should one occur.
